The Watch

In this episode, I am sharing a memory of going to a store to buy my first watch. All watch sounds and music are original. I recorded the watch using a LOM mikroUcho Pro with a sensitivity rating of -32 dB at 1kHz (±3 dB) with a Sound Devices Mix Pre 6 recorder. Train and Kids Playing from Freesound.

Parrots

This is a story about a flock of parrots that temporarily call my neighborhood home. They are seasonal visitors announcing the arrival of Winter or Spring. The sounds were recorded, early in the morning, using a Rode NTG3 with a Sound Devices MixPre ii recorder.

The Bells

Objects have stories to tell and the bell sound that was recorded using an Oktava Microphone has one such story. The field recorder used was the Sound Devices Mix Pre ii at my in-home studio. Listen and relax as the bell opens a childhood memory of growing up in Los Angeles.

Bunny Chewing Sound

My family adopted a bunny we found eating my mother’s garden plants. We took the bunny and she has become part of our family. She makes a very interesting sound while chewing her rabbit treats. I recorded the following sound file using a Sound Devices MixPre ii and a Rode NTG3. The recording took place in the backyard of a big city.

North Washington State Beach Sounds

This summer, my family and I got sick of being housebound and decided to take a camping road trip from Los Angeles to Seattle. I brought along some audio equipment and recorded some nature sounds.

Here’s a clip of the ocean at Anacortes Beach.

This mono sound file was recorded using a Zoom F4 with an Oktava MK-012 at a sample rate of 96000Hz at a 24 bit depth.
